Instead of guns to control China and its indigenous lands, they use the USD. They are the new feudal warlords.
They have names as "Ronnie" and "David" that precede their family names Chan and Li. In their intent, they hide behind even fancier names as Hang Lung, Cheong Kong, Hutchinson, Jardine and HSBC.
So, to shoot them, confiscate their USD! See this, for example: https://www.hswh.org.cn/wzzx/llyd/ls/2024-07-06/88875.html.
Millions of Chinese, especially the youths of Hong Kong, know in their hearts there’s something deeply wrong in a land where, we’re told, is a land of goodness and plenty — 好山好水. You have to only work hard, and all of us do. Yet, in Hong Kong, in spite of working 12-hour days, six days a week, one in four can never earn enough, even to live, and are one paycheck away from total destitution, living in the streets.
It’s as if Hong Kong is living the American nightmare, from Los Angeles to New York, made worse by an indifferent pro-US local government and a callous political economic system that’s more concerned about profits in the stock market than laying even a single brick.
In this state of affairs, the youth can’t tell why and how it came to be. So each night they, like A-Li, cry themselves to sleep in the song below.
A case in point is 陳彥霖 Chan Yin-lam, age 15, who threw herself into the sea during - and against - the 2019 riots. (See detailed information in image caption below.) When she died, there was just HK$20 left in her wallet, barely enough to cover the bus fare home.
It’s been five years since Yin-lam, and we continue to refuse to end up like her; we’ll fight back instead; we’ll vindicate her!
