In looking at the war against Iran exclusively on military and geopolitical terms, White Man deludes himself. Delusion because that line of reasoning falsely interpretes that Iran (along with China) is putting the US in a corner and, worse for it, see China-US relations as pivoted to results of a West Asian war. It is not.
White men like Alastair Crooke and Scott Ritter (video above) are looking at the West Asia war through the wrong end of the telescope.
For Trump’s tastes and to satisfy his material, get-rich-appetite Iran is only sideshow, “an excursion,” says he. Iran delivers nothing to him in person, other than keep the Israeli lobby away from pestering him and to keep election donations flowing from the Miriam Adelsons
Adelson money and Israel may give Trump power but they don’t make him rich.

And, in that regard, Trump is aware of a long standing agenda he has built with Xi Jinping to bring Americans into China and get rich off its land, real state, insurance, finance and banking. That collectively, the FIRE sector, contributes to 60 percent of US GDP, 90 percent in Hong Kong.
Hence, the question to ask of the summit is: What is Trump offering Xi in return for full unhindered access to China’s FIRE sector?
Answer: in 2025 Trump offered to pull back the US military from the eastern Pacific and so leave Taiwan alone for Xi to fulfill his promise of unification by 2027. In White Man’s war against Iran, Trump has also emptied the Asia Pacific arsenal that Ritter et al bitch about endlessly.
Conversely, those acts of demilitarization, supposedly favoring China, explains why Trump day in and day out says he works very well with Xi.
Where Iran enters the FIRE agenda is this — as icing on the cake — to wit the US offer of unhindered access to energy and international shipping routes, both being vital to Chinese interests. Those interests are now under attack in Argentina, Panama, Venezuela, now Iran, coming soon to Cuba.
Those problems in Latin America were never there before Trump. That they exist today, is purely the result of US skullduggery in deliberately creating and stirred them up since January 2025.
Now, they are looked upon and treated as “cards” with which Trump could leverage towards an unfinished business of getting rich off the Chinese FIRE market. From the Chinese perspective, Xi is a traitor. That is, selling Chinese sovereignty over Taiwan — which was never a negotiable point of contention with foreigners above all — and over energy trades and shipping routes, none of which is the business of White Man USA anyway.
The more Xi deals with Trump, therefore, the more he’s mired in US machinations, today he having to deal, stupidly, with Taiwan, energy, shipping, all at once.
